Steve Miller, 83 years old, grew up in Boone, Iowa and was first exposed to upland bird hunting in the early 1950’s tagging along with his best friend, Larry and Larry’s Dad. Pheasants were plentiful and getting a limit of birds was easily accomplished even without a dog. Like many youth beginning hunters, Steve purchased a .410 single shot shotgun which he used to bag his first rooster along the railroad tracks behind his family home.
