There is a notion out there that the Bible makes a distinction between the gospel and doctrine—that the gospel consists of critical ideas in the Christian religion while doctrine comprises things are matters of judgment, nothing that should cause us to draw lines of fellowship. Such a distinction is, of course, wholly foreign to the Bible.
