Christopher Knight, known as the "North Pond Hermit," lived a solitary existence in the Maine wilderness for 27 years, from 1986 to 2013. He survived by stealing supplies from nearby cabins, committing hundreds of burglaries. Knight's secluded life ended when he was apprehended in 2013. His story gained widespread attention due to the extreme length of his isolation and the methods he used to survive, raising questions about solitude, survival, and the human need for connection.
