Colleen Stan was kidnapped in 1977 by Cameron and Janice Hooker and held captive for seven years. During her captivity, she was subjected to extreme physical and sexual abuse, including being confined to a box for long periods. Cameron manipulated Colleen into believing that she was a slave and that an underground organization called "the Company" would harm her and her family if she tried to escape. He forced her to sign a "slavery contract" and subjected her to brutal punishments.

In 1984, Janice, consumed by guilt, confessed the truth to Colleen and helped her escape. Colleen returned home to her family and eventually revealed the details of her ordeal. Cameron was arrested and charged with multiple crimes, including kidnapping and rape. He was found guilty and sentenced to a lengthy prison term. Despite the immense trauma she endured, Colleen survived and has shared her story to raise awareness about the horrors of human trafficking and abuse.
