I am your host, Andre Archimbaud. I am a musical omnivore. There is very little music I do not like.

That said, I think the greatest contribution to humanity that America has made is the pop music from the 1920s through early 1960s. It’s as if that era is the Rosetta Stone for all of pop culture.

You see, music – sound, really – came long before the frozen or moving image. So, it only makes sense that music would move us as a nation before photography, film or video would even come into the proverbial picture.

Whether it’s Fletcher Henderson, Charles Mingus or John Coltrane, this is the music of yesterday, today and tomorrow. It does withstand the test of time.
