In this episode, Fr. Benedict La Volpe, OFM, rector and guardian of Marytown, the National Shrine of St. Maximilian Kolbe, shares beautiful insights about Mary, the Mother of God and our mother, given to us by Jesus, from the cross. Fr. Benedict highlights a bit of history about Marytown, currently located in Libertyville, IL. He discusses the inspiration for this "3rd Marytown" since the first one was founded by St. Maximilian in Niepokalanowa, Poland and the 2nd was also founded by St. Maximilian in Nagasaki, Japan. He also shares some of the highlights about why Mary is so important to the Franciscan order, starting with St. Francis and his devotion to Our Lady and some of the other important aspects of love of Mary and her role in salvation history. He concludes this show by sharing more about the Militia Immaculata (MI) and consecration to Jesus through Mary.
