So many people make decisions by what they see. But we shouldn't make such superficial judgements any more. That's very important in the social sector. Getting to know people and to understand them is more important than ever if we are to tackle the challenges together.

It's always inspiring to meet people who are doing things that we never thought possible. Like a blind artist using her whole body to paint.

Talking to people on the expo floor, what did we learn? What do participants want? Who inspired us? What was it like?

Looking at how society relates to people with disabilities. We need to understand people as a whole, rather than label them or summarise them with one of the typical pictures you see on a website. There’s a sad moment from our time on the Gold Coast expo, followed by the idea that disability is all about the individual rather than a competition.
