Today's text tells us what happened in heaven. Jesus, the one to whom the throne belongs, has come to inherit His heavenly throne.

In chapter 13, we are instructed about how we are to conduct ourselves as brothers who are together on the road that Christ has made to our Father's house in glory. The foundational exhortation is that we are to let brotherly love continue. Now we are looking at the particulars -loving strangers, remembering prisoners-. Today we come to Revelation 12-1-6. Here we are given a very compressed picture of the church. We see a quick picture of her before Christ came and when He came. This compressed history is very helpful because it shows us what the church's essential nature is-in short, that she is the woman with her son.

Hebrews 13 gives us rules about how we ought to conduct ourselves in the church as we run this race with our brothers and sisters. In sum, we have seen that we are to continue in brotherly love.

In the passage we are looking at today, John returns to see what happens -up there- which he learns about in a vision. It is clear that the things he sees happen in order-the seventh trumpet is blown after the sixth. Rev 11-14 declares- The second woe is past. Behold, the third woe is coming quickly.-

Today we are continuing our sermon series in Hebrews. We will be looking at Hebrews 13-2. Hebrews 13 is the last chapter in this epistle or letter to the Hebrews. We are told how to go on with His people. We are told how to conduct ourselves with His people.

This afternoon, I want to look at five things we can learn from Revelation 11-7-14. First, learn that you must finish the work that God has given you to do. Second, learn how important it is for us and our people to receive the testimony that God gives us. A third thing we learn from our text is the identity of the one God often uses to take away His witness from us, from our churc

Today we come to chapter 13 where we are told how to behave ourselves among all whom Christ has redeemed. We might call this chapter- 'Rules of Conduct for Pilgrims Who are Going to God's House in Glory.' Today, we will look at the first thing that is said about this conduct. It sums up all the rest.
