"News" in recent times, (believe it or not) meant learning about something you didn't already know about. You'd most likely walk away after watching the nightly news feeling more aware of the world that exists around you.....simultaneously having more confidence in the institution that provided you with that awareness. Do you still feel that way?
In 1968, Dan Bullock was 14 years old when he enlisted in the Marines after altering his birth certificate to reflect he was 18 years old. A short 8 months went by and he was already landing in Vietnam. Less than 3 weeks later he was killed in action at 15 years old during an overnight attack by a Vietnamese Sapper unit.
