İsmail Cem Öztürk, who was born in "Istanbul", is a Turkish DJ Artist & Producer... His first relation with electronic music began in early 2000s, by listening as a passionate clubber... After listening for a while, he has realized that, this was not only a music, but more than that...It contains systematic beat discipline, profundity and has own philosophy in itself. Listening this, was giving him a different kind of energy and consciousness.. And then, this began to turn into an obsession for him..It was the moment that he decided, listening was no longer enough any more..He should have done something to become a part of this stream... For sure, he decided to be a DJ artist because DJ'ing was the most important role; basically, they were the headliners... Immediately after this decision, he had his first setup and speakers.It was an amazing system with the conditions of that day. 2 Technics 1210 mk2 Turntables with Ortofon Concorde Cartridges, Pioneer DJM 500 Mixer, Technics 1210 Headphones and Cervin Vega Speaker System..He must have given this expensive setup justice, because having these pieces at home was very special to anyone. Maybe very few DJ’s could have this chance in the year of 2000.. It was a very important privilige for anyone to play whenever you want and this opportunity, made everything easier for improving himself.From now on, It was possible to practice all day and all night long.. Now everything was almost completed for to reach his dreams..The remaining was his ability, skills, and passion ofcourse..There was no other option for him except being succesfull because nearly nobody was believing him.They were thinking that it was a hobby for him and one day he’ll get bored and quit playing.. It was not easy, even it was very complicated in the beginning.Indeed sometimes he thought about quitting seriously as they were thinking :) Although he loves long duration mixes, mixing with turntables was so difficult that it was pain in the ass to control them because even you catch the right pitches, their speed was always changing.He accepted that he needed more time getting used to them, more ability to control and have a better ear.. Spending days and nights nearly for a year, without sleeping, listening too much, trying to understand the details better and very hard working with passion, improved his skills dramatically and also created his own style about his sound.Now he was controlling everything easily and was able to play long duration mixes as he targeted..When the year came to 2002 he was feeling himself totally ready..His dream came true finally and he started to show performance in the famous clubs of Istanbul... He has played in most of the clubs and festivals in Istanbul until today..Currently spining his radio shows on Wednesdays, between 00:00-01:00 (GMT3) on RADIO FG 93.8 , on Fridays and Saturdays between 23:00-00:00 (GMT3)on KISS FM 91.6, the best electronic music platforms in Turkey... He also plays @"W” Hollywood Rooftop Club and Club AVALON in Los Angeles in summers... We can say that his main genres are Melodic Techno, Progressive house and sometimes Indie dance.With the use of impressing Vocals in the sets, you feel the energy and emotion deep inside.. Besides that, he likes to play so much his House based sets for his “HYPOMANIA” and "HYPE YOURSELF" radio shows on KISS FM 91.6.. His deep & groovy sound, which is supported by eligible kicks and basses, is essential for him and adds quality to his performances and use of so many effects while playing, dancing is guaranteed as well as for dead clubbers :) By using his brilliant mixing skills, he never lets the energy drop down in his sets.. He mentions that the methods while playing, are not important today... Nobody cares, whether you play with using Turntables, CDJ’s, Traktor, or Hair dryer :) People just wants to listen good music from you. The important thing as a result today is, what you play. The "MUSIC"...
