Our hope and our confidence is in the fact that he is able. The author of Hebrews calls our attention ultimately to Jesus. The writer says because Jesus is our holy and indestructible High Priest who is at this moment standing in heaven, praying for me and praying for you.  

Why do we believe God has spoken in the Bible? Because of how different the message is, how radically unique the belief system is, how uncommon its ethics are, compared to the culture of the day. The Bible is an intervention from the outside.
