Join Dan Storper and Rosalie Howarth in this week’s episode of Putumayo World Music Hour as they spice things up with the ultimate upbeat party music, Salsa. Salsa, which means “sauce” in Spanish, as a music genre is an umbrella phrase for Latin music styles that often include Afro-Cuban rhythms like the son montuno, mambo, guajira and guaracha. Salsa really came of age in the 1960’s, in the Puerto Rican immigrant communities of New York City.
