DISCLAIMER: Today’s episode discusses themes of pregnancy loss and miscarriage - please reach out to the resources below for further support.
Bec Bond is a mother and talented calligrapher and photographer based on the Central Coast of Australia. She’s a compassionate advocate for fertility awareness and has become a beacon of hope in the community.
After a healthy first pregnancy and a beautiful baby girl born in 2020, on the 22nd March 2023 Bec gave birth to her son Otis Corbon Bond at 20 weeks pregnant - who had a rare heart condition.
A few months later, she fell pregnant, in her words - the “hope she needed’ - only to miscarry shortly after. I didn’t know it, but at the time of recording this episode in late 2023, Bec was in the early stages of her third pregnancy - only to recently navigate another miscarriage at 8 weeks.
The day we're releasing this is International Women's Day. 1 in 10 women worldwide will navigate pregnancy loss or infertility in their life. We’re indebted to women like Bec who are courageous enough to share their stories.
This is a story of solidarity, hope and resilience. Bec - thank you for your strength and thank you for trusting me with your story.
