Aaron and Glenys welcome their friend Lauren Anton, MS, RD, CEDRD-S, CPT to talk about all things exercise! Our relationship to movement and our bodies can be complicated by eating disorders or a lifetime of dieting. While some people experience life-interrupting exercise dependence, others might be feeling a complete avoidance to movement, even when they want to. Lauren explains what we can do to address these issues and begin to heal our relationship to movement. She also talks about what intuitive eating can look like for athletes or the regular exerciser.

Lauren is a Certified Eating Disorder Registered Dietitian, iaedp™-approved Supervisor, and Certified Personal Trainer helping people to break free from diet culture using a weight-inclusive, HAES® approach. She has hands-on experience working with eating disorders from residential through outpatient levels of care and currently works with clients out of her Los Angeles-based private practice. She also supervises fellow dietitians and runs a monthly supervision group. Lauren has spoken nationally on athletes and ED, adolescents and ED, and weight stigma and has presented her own research examining the effects of intuitive eating–based nutrition education on adolescent female cross country runners. Lauren is currently in process for certification as a Body Trust® provider. She has also been quoted in publications such as The Washington Post, BuzzFeed, and the Huffington Post.
