How do we cope after trauma? When the enemy uses shame to keep us silent, God's Truth gives us freedom. Today my friend Anné Bates opens up to share her story, focusing on God's redemptive power after sexual assault and the message He impressed on her heart: It's Not About You!
This is truly an incredible story of God's redemptive work, of wrestling with the evil in this world, & embracing boldness as we, new creations in Christ, live for God's glory!
This conversation touches on why God allows evil, the concept of free will, how we can share when we don't feel prepared, replacing lies with Truth in Christ, and how God is our light even in the midst of deep darkness. This is a powerful example of how we can identify and dismantle the lies and false beliefs of the enemy and instead abide with Christ & His Word.
We also discuss Ephesians 6:12-13 & Romans 12:1-3 ESV and how we can be living sacrifices, willing to be uncomfortable for God & the Kingdom because ultimately it's not about us or our comfort. Christians are called to be bold and willing to be uncomfortable in a culture that idolizes comfort. When we obey (in God's strength never our own) we are able to see His purposes & fight the spiritual battles waging against us.
