Bruce Hooley's 63rd birthday began normally, by taking his two teenage daughters to their suburban-Columbus Christian High School. An hour after dropping them off, he had his first-ever medical episode -- a seizure that soon revealed a Stage 3 brain tumor, which was removed Sept. 15. Bruce describes the time since as, "the most exhilarating period of my life," because it has renewed his focus on helping men serve their God-directed roles as husbands and fathers and re-energized Bruce's efforts to sow the seed of The Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Bruce became friends with Dr. Brandon Shriner and became the voice of the Warrior 3 podcast after joining Salem Media of Ohio in October 2020. That followed a three-decade career in newspaper, radio and television. At the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Bruce covered Ohio State University for 18 years, while also serving as the newspaper's national college football and basketball reporter. Bruce won numerous state and national writing and reporting awards before transitioning to radio in 2005. He has since hosted top-rated talk shows in Columbus and Cleveland, while also hosting his own state-wide commentary show on the Spectrum News Network for four years.
Bruce worships with his family at Northwest Chapel in Dublin and is a member of his high school's athletic hall of fame. He and his wife, Sheri, live with their three daughters 20 minutes outside Columbus.
