Nia Patterson joins me to chat about her journey to Body Positivity. We dive into the difference between Body Positivity vs. Self-Love, how thin people can be better fat allies, her work with NEDA, and changing the conversation around what eating disorders "look" like.
Nia is an eating disorder recovery and mental health advocate. She has spent much of the past 2 years documenting her recovery from bulimia, ocd, ptsd, and bipolar disorder on Instagram and her blog. It is her personal goal to become a therapist and work with people with eating disorders and co-occurring disorders. She has collaborated with NEDA multiple times and hopes to continue to do so. She posts on Instagram at the friend I never wanted and blogs at the friendineverwanted.com. You can also find Nia’s body positive and self care artwork in her Etsy Shop, The Dapper Dolphin.
