This series explores 20th century American history by focusing on a diverse group of figures spanning architecture, poetry, drama, religion, esoteric philosophy, and speculative fiction. Episodes will feature Frank Lloyd Wright, Ezra Pound, T. S. Eliot, E. E. Cummings, Wallace Stevens, William Faulkner, Tennessee Williams, Theodore Roethke and Robinson Jeffers, Thomas Merton, Christ in Alexandria, Khigh Dhiegh, A. E. van Vogt.
This is a 12 presentation sub-series from a year-long examination of "Hermetic America" by Roger Weir. This presentation series was originally delivered in 1985 at the Philosophical Research Society in Los Angeles.
